As we look forward to the remembrance of Reformation Day when the month of October draws to a close, I thought it would be a good idea to remember the great Reformers who, by their obedience to God, stood unwavering against the heresies of the Roman church so that the true faith that is given us by God in His Word was once again preached — Sola Scriptura, Sola Gratia, Sola Fide and Solus Christus, giving all due glory to God, and God alone (Soli Deo Gloria)!

We begin this series with a look at the life and death of Jan Hus or, as he is more commonly known in the English-speaking world, John Huss (or Hus).

Prosperity Legalism

This post was first published November 2, 2008 at my old blog, WordnVerse.

While I know that at its fundamentals, legalism is defined as an adherence to laws and works versus grace for salvation, there’s a loose definition that defines it thus: “if I do this for God, God will do that for me”.

In which case, in light of accusations by those who subscribe to new-fangled Christianity that includes the accursed prosperity message of being a “legalistic fundamental” — aren’t these folks themselves practicing a perverted form of legalism?

Some Small Changes At Reformed Wretch

Some of you might already know that I have a “new” micro-blog at Posterous. So, okay, you might say, “Dude, you don’t even have time to update the blog here and you’re micro-blogging?!” I’ll readily confess that I have been slack updating this blog because of the hectic schedule last week, but I hope to justify why I am adding my Posterous micro-blog to my, uh, repertoire(?).
